It's not really about how much owners have on their cars, it's about how much people are willing to pay. I suppose I'm a typical example of someone who wanted to pay more for a low mile Evo 9 with min mods. To me low miles means many more years of fun (track) before I have to do any serous work on it, this privilege is what I'd gladly pay 5k more. As car guys get older start to look around for something relatively cheap (compared to a porche) they see Evo's as a great entry level performance car that smokes everything else in it's class while doing it reliably, it's these old guys who are going to drive the price up, ok there's also a bunch of young guys out there too who have given up on houses as property prices have gone up so they are looking around for fun too and see the Evo as an easy way to have it.

when i see a car that is 100% stock, i'm skeptical. maybe if i could take a good look and got the impression parts hadn't been swapped back.
in the end we just have to take the seller's word for it.
the less mods, the more i'm willing to pay. i would pretty much stay away from anything that has gone the T3, double pumper, etc route. that's some serious modification and who knows if it were done and tuned right.
but again.. who's to say the "100% stock" car didn't have 700whp yesterday LOL.

I'm seeing this more than usual. Older cars being overly priced. And same goes with used parts. I remembered used Evo 8/9 going for 19k-24k in great condition. These days people are jacking prices up, i don't get it.

prices follow what people are willing to pay, not the other way around. if people weren't buying at the prices they're at, prices would come back down. same thing happening in the ap2 s2k market, people are just willing to pay more for the cars, so the prices are going up.

Supply and demand. It's getting harder to find them.
As for parts, I've noticed used part prices climbing. When I sell a used part, I typically sell it for about half of new. I'm seeing used stuff maybe 10% cheaper.. On the bright side, I've been buying a lot of new parts which means less worry on my end LOL

I stopped selling my used parts because people wanted them for less. Used to sell for half +10-15%. Low ballers annoyed me so I just decided to hold on to all my old ****.

Going through this now and a lot of my stuff is BNIB.
I'd love to sell this stuff but I guess I am going to end up with some expensive paperweights. Selling some for 30% off and people are still to cheap.
I sold my Evo so I don't need this stuff but I am not going to give it away.

sometimes it's better to be stuck with it then to have the few bucks in your pocket.

kinda being sarcastic.. but not really because i'm stubborn too LOL. so now i have random parts, from cars i no longer own, taking up room in my garage. sometimes i just trash them. 'guess i should have let them go for less LOL.
