In Aus there's about 10 to 15 IX for sale, most above 30k but some high mileage below 30k, my insurance company valued mine at 24k, when I told them it was immaculate low mileage they asked what I wanted to insure it for and I said 34k as I bought it and agreed to that. For cars to become a collectors item there needs to be a reason, my reason is that it's the best bang for buck track car I could get. If lots of silver foxes want them it might drive prices up because that can pay the bigger bucks but I think most silver foxes want mustangs and classic old holdens which I find boring cruising along in. Anything immaculate and low miles will create a reason for someone to pay bucks but as our cars grow older and most here track and drive them hard, not keep them in a plastic wrapper, therefore I don't think they will become that classic big money puller that a muscle car might be.

I noticed the same thing, but I also noticed it's just on the forums. I guess they price them lower here because the buyers are either too cheap or too picky. An ix going for 22k on Evom will be like 30k+ on autotrader lol. there is no doubt the ix still holds it's value the best. Ten year old car or not they are only getting more rare. That actually brings the desire higher for low mileage ix's. I know most of my car buddies prefer the ct9a over the X any day and would pay more for one.
Then why even sell on here lol. I will agree that autotrader prices seem higher.

It seems there was a price spike back in Aug. Many noticed and put there cars on the market. The market is a bit flooded now and it looks like asking prices have dropped again. I'd bet that a few years from now "bubble Evo's " will go back up again.
Seen this happen in the E30 M3 market.
My guess is that 10 years from now 20K and less mileage IXs with no to minor mods will be $60k and up.

This past fall, I put my MR SE on Craigslist to see what it would fetch. It had just crossed 90k miles. Minimal mods... Turboback, tune and springs. Kid was willing to pay 22k which kinda stunned me. I couldn't go through with it. I probably blew my chance at getting a decent offer lol

that's a pretty fair price. i'd do $20k, so not too far off. $22k doesn't seem to far-fetched, IMO. you would just need to wait for a buyer.

the cars are just going to become more valuable as the years go especially for clean low mileage ones. with the 8-9s just think they were only made for 4 years. that's a short time along with the fact not a huge amount were put into the us compared to many other cars. it comes down to supply and demand and unfortunately the number of 8-9s will only become less and less as time goes on.

I hope so. Its paid off and I would rather keep it around until I actually need the money i.e. investment or first home. There's not a whole lot of "clean" evo's left out there.

Truth^. I very tightly hold onto my low mileage stock IX RS. All the CT9As in my area aside from 1 or 2 are all modded, very very well "used" and all owned by young guys..

Evo IX GG with 90,000 miles. Paid $14.500.

Price was low due to the fact the guy thought his engine was taking a **** since it was making a rotational vibration around 3000-4k+ rpms. Turned up to be the balance shaft belt torn to hell.. I was skeptical but I figured i could fix it, alot of the forums told me to avoid it. lol Good thing i didnt listen.

Paid $27.5K for my 2006 GG Evo IX MR last year. It was bone stock, single owner with 26,000 miles on it.

That's fair with the mileage, IMO
