IMO, a WRX is fine, if you leave it alone, as far as engine mods go. They are relatively fragile and don't like being messed with, for the most part. Some do okay, but it's a risk. If the '03 is BONE stock and SUPER clean, then it's worth that if you are willing to pay. The mileage is okay and being left alone (assuming you find no evidence to suggest otherwise) is a plus.

Well, they don't them any more, so maybe not.

I'm not the best driver, but have yet to be beaten by a X at Autox, HPDE, etc. I do like how the X rotates on slow, tight corners, though. It should be pushing like crazy, but finds a way to get around. It was very cool. The engine was also super smooth. But he was still much slower than I.

That's fairly typical.

It's fairly typical for cars to retain the bulk of their original value after 10+ years of ownership? Fascinating.

Do yourself a favor and buy a new car, a WRX or whatever else you like. The odds of that Evo being well-maintained are slim. Just look around the forum. Good luck.

Well-maintained, low-mileage examples, yes.

No, I mean among the "desirable" vehicles;, Evo's, Corvettes, Vipers, Cobra's, STI's, and other more limited run type vehicles. Typically closer to stock, well maintained, and low to below average mileage vehicles fetch a better price.

How much would you pay with a lightly modded WW XI MR with ~130k miles?

Depends on miles. And what "lightly-modded" means. Some people have a very skewed definition of that when it comes to Evo's.

Yup, just like how some people think "stock" means "stock turbo"

For example:
Aluminum Radiator
Dual Map Tune 91/E85
Injectors
Upgraded Coilpacks
Upgraded Fuel Pump
Upgraded Intake

Mainly preformance mods.

Agreed lol, I rather have my Evo stock rather than the parts it has, although they are mainly bolt ons, previous owner didn't keep stock parts....

Buying a IX gg w/ 88k miles saturday for 16.5k

Lightly modded, intake and some other crap..

Seems to me like I'm getting a decent deal from what I'm reading here. I've owned a couple of Subarus and other sporty manual cars but everyone tells me I've been missing out by not getting an Evo, here's my chance

Can you define "lightly modded" in the case of this IX?
