Evo IX used car pricing: Thousands over book value
That may be correct but if & im just saying if you use kbb or at most use it as a suttle guide, you'll see the mr has the higher value then the rest of them even the RS version. I'm not knocking the gsr, ssl, or the se 5speed, I'm just saying the MR is in my opinion sought out due to the different options such as the roof being aluminum I believe, and the struts being different (I think the springs may be same) & of course the transmission. But we all have differences in preference. When I wanted to buy my MR, I had an 05 STI at the time & just didn't want to go from a 6spd to a 5spd

all that adds up the MR being one of the least favorites and desirable.
KBB means nothing when it comes to our cars, the SE also has an aluminum roof {i believe. it's basically an MR with a 5spd and nicer front lip/seats), the struts are nice, but easily found in the Classifieds or replaced with a coilover, and most people don't want the transmission.
all that adds up the MR being one of the least favorites and deisirable.

The MR actually got the gun metal wheels, though. The SE got those fancy, shiny ones which I never see for sale, for some reason.
I'm pretty sure only the MR got the Bilsteins.
I think the SE is most desirable. Only a few of us prefer the MR.

the 06 MR has the highest value, but like I said use KBB as a guide do to owners pricing their cars as they want, the SE did not have the aluminum roof, nor the Mcpherson struts, if you like the 5spd that's great but saying people prefer the 5spd over the 6spd is an opinion. of all the versions of the evo most of them carry a 5speed and seem to be the prefered when building a 1/4 mile car, I like my 6spd. these cars are and will continue to be sought out for years to come.
No fair you mentioned the interior twice. 😛

The wheels are rarer because they were on fewer models (SE and MR Appearance Package), while the gunmetal ones were produced for the most common model (MR) and available in 2005 too.

Most people do prefer the six speed, its fact. Very few of us prefer the 6. Any time spent on this site or Talking to other Evo owners will show you that.
KBB has nothing do with our cars unless you are a back issuing a loan. No Evo owner bases their selling price on KBB.
Our MRs are less popular and probably sell for less. It's really okay. Who cares?

It did have an aluminum roof and all models are on McPherson struts.

I'll admit I'm jealous of the fancy badge.
overall these cars are amazing, my son will be 9 in December and he always ask me if I'll teach him how to drive the evo when he's old enough, of course son, thanks to having the good graces of uncle Sam i've always been able to keep the car garage kept so as far as any fading goes, i'd say the paint and body would be a 8.5-9 out of 10, but it's amazing thinking and knowing the car was assembled before my son was even born and still looks the way it did when they sold it in the showroom. I was at a mitsubishi dealership just last night as the wife is wanting a 3rd row suv and likes the outlander; there stood a fleet of EVO x's in the front lot, it's so hard to believe this is the last year for them other then the special editions coming soon. I was showing them pics of my evo and just felt proud of owning mine. The sticker price on the MR's was like 43k.
I agree completely. I bought mine because I prefer the 6spd, otherwise I'd be all over an SE.
the GSR was probably better for my purposes though.. had the "ultimate" 5spd ratio too... miss that car sometimes, seems like my new one is a bucket of unknowns, and after 3 years of owning it, it still doesn't feel like MINE.
