Front Bumper: Viii vs IX

OK kids, I currently have 2005 GG MR. However, this car was bought with a IX bumper on it. Now, I have a VRSF intercooler which is much bigger than the stock one, my IX bumper fits tightly, and not as sound as it originally did. I want my front end to be flush. But I got to thinking, is the Viii front bumper roomier than the IX? Is this why I can't get my bumper back to it's original fitment with the new IC?

What are your thoughts/knowledge on this? I understand it's a different scenario buying front end parts with an altered front end. I am considering trading for an Viii bumper if this makes a difference, AND because it's damn near impossible to find the OEM IX lip... my god...

Just do some trimming on the IX bumper, it shouldnt need much to clear it

Funny as I was thinking about upgrading to the IX bumper to see if I would have MORE clearance between my 8 bumper and ARC intercooler. There are a few spots where the grill pieces and the tanks touch a bit for my liking.

The spot that rubs is in the corner of the IC behind the two holes in the IX bumper. I have a friend who does body work I'll see if I can shave it down some. I want it to look flush.

Right after install (its a big boy)

With the Bumper on

You could just buy an ic that fits.

Honestly, I despise the hood more than you guys. I've had the car for a month. Trust me... I'm returning to OEM.

No, my hood is aftermarket so it doesn't line up right on the top, and my bumper doesn't fit well because of the new intercooler. Hopefully getting a new hood tomorrow and prepping for paint. Also getting the SE lip when I find one. Like I mentioned, I want the front end to be flush.
