Hallman heavy spring

Does anyone know where I can get a heavy spring for a hallman boost controller? Mine was supposed to come with both springs and the heavy one was missing.

Contact hallmen. They'll send it to you.

Did you make sure you ordered the "RX" model?
Either way, I'm surprised they haven't gotten back to you.
Good luck.

Why do you want to install this heavier spring in your MBC? I am just wondering why you need this.

Yes, I ordered the RX. The reason is, The RX comes pre-loaded with the light spring and can only be set to stock PSI, or lower. The heavy spring is supposed to be included, but was not in the box.

I use the light spring and has no problem controlling my GT35R on meth injection. Not sure if you really need the heavier srping.

Nope, I think that you are mistaken in making this generalization. Well, in a way and up to a point you are right, under certain conditions. But you are wrong about not being able run peak boost levels that are higher than stock with the light spring.

Incidentally, how high are you trying to boost?

Think of it this way: An MBC device controls a certain range of boost ABOVE the turbo's total wastegate spring pressure level. Your turbo's spring pressure level equals the 16G turbos base pressure(approximately 8-10#) plus any additional "preload" obtained from adjusting the WGA.

From the factory total spring pressure is about 10-12#. So your Hallman light spring has about a 10# range on top of the 10-12# of the turbos spring pressure. So, your turbo is gonna peak out at about 19-22#.

By simply adjusting the WGA you can increase spring pressure up to a higher level. Your MBC will still have the same 10# range of adjustability above spring pressure, but since the spring pressure is set higher(lets say 17#) the MBC will now start to control boost upwards of 17#. So, you should be able to raise peak boost level up to 27#.

I also had the same problem and once I got the heavier spring I was able to make above 17psi.
