stock or 280cams ?

stock or 280cams ?

hi. im installing 3071 spec turbo from turbolab, i have gsc 280 cams, im wondering if i should run stock cams instead ?
because im running stock valvetrain.
what do you think is best option?
stock block also.

I don't believe you can run 280's on stock valve springs.

^ this I believe theres to much lift. You will probably need valvesprings

ive been using 280 cams when i had the stock turbo, worked fine, but i want to be pretty safe with the new turbo hehe

If you're going to stay with the 280's stronger valve springs are always recommended. A lot of people get away with 272's on stock heads, but just to be safe I'd recommend installing bigger springs for sure. Stock vs. the 280's though it all really depends on where you want to make power.

😬 that sounds like a recipe for some valves to float on you. I agree with the other guys on here. I ran 272's on stock springs but when I went to the Cossy M3's I upgraded the springs. You need to upgrade those springs if your running 280's.
