I second that wow. I didn't start modding until 100k. 155 now, still stock motor. Read, search, and learn from the forums. Some members on here are close to 300k miles.

Soo...your solution to a vehicle with 100k+ miles is replace the engine? Is there something wrong with your current engine?

What's wrong with your current engine? "High mileage" is totally arbitrary, but replacing your whole engine or rebuilding it solely based on the fact that it has 100k miles is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Do a compression test, monitor oil usage, leaks, and make an educated assessment of your engine's overall health based on that.

Mine has 119k and still runs strong..why replace an engine because it reached the '100k' mile mark...

I always say mileage is just a number. maintain a car well ams it should treat you well. Start nodding. Keep rolling. Don't waste your money.

Why do you feel the motor needs to be replaced?

Grabs popcorn and waits for a ridiculous response from the original poster. Why would you buy a high mileage EVO to only then ask to find out about replacing the engine? Interesting....

Get the motor checked before deciding to invest so much money

I'm in for the laughs on this one. I'm of firm belief that as long as you maintain a car well and use quality fluids it'll last an incredibly long time. My old honda accord was beaten into the dirt daily and still rolled 200k like it was it's first day off the dealer lot.
