Just a few questions, i have a 05 evo 8. pretty much bone stock(as far as i know from when i got it) but i changed out the stock exhaust mani and downpipe. i currently have no cat. planning to put a stock one in if i can find one. Will i pass CA emissions? What could i do to pass if i put a hi flow cat? Is anyone selling a stock evo8 cat? Thanks everyone

 

For california you will def need a cat I also believe you will need to rhe stoxk exhaust manifold since they do a visual test

 

you would be better off selling it for premium there and buying a clean one out here since they are not rare. if you are not paying for shipping ie military then by all means bring it over

 

You wont pass visual or emissions without the stock manifold and a catalytic converter. I have passed smog before with an aftermarket downpipe but I had the stock manifold, stock catalytic converter and the stock catback.

 

to give you an idea of how crazy about smog they are in cali, my car got turned away from 2 shops because of my manifold heat shield wasn't oem.

You could always toss on a 100 cel cat. Maybe buy a ported oem manifold. Was anything else eliminated?
