Maf post bov for better idle???

This is more of a curiosity question but I have a 3" uicp so if I was to incorporate the Maf in-between the throttle body and the tial vta bov would that solve the issue of running vta on maf? So again the maf would be post bov and pre throttle body. Obviously custom fab job but I've always wondered about this, one would think it would solve rich issues and idle stumbling. Would have to solder in wires to extend the factory maf connector plug though, no biggie there. Thanks!!

this question was brought up years ago. the problem with it is that the maf is calibrated to be at its specific location and moving it would hinder the way it operates.

Ya I figured something weird like that might be the case but its just metering the air coming into the engine so I don't see how its location would matter but thanks for the quick reply.

someone actually took the time to do it.i was trying to find the thread but it must be lost in the archives.
it does meter air but there is also a time delay for it.unless you could open up the maf and change parameters to it I don't see it happening.

Well I do have tactrix cable and all that to change maf scaling but I just found a thread where the guy was talking about the maf sensor not being able to handle 25+ psi of boost and the fact the maf would be on the charged side of the system messes it up bad. I should of figured I wasn't anywhere near the first person to think of doing this. They make weld on brackets though to do this exact thing on a X.
