Heat coming from vents?

have you guys noticed that when your A/C / air, is off, that heat still seems to come through them. The temp dial is at max heat but at idle no air comes through the vents because its off. When i get on the throttle i can feel the heat coming through the vents. I mean, having a heated steering wheel is great but is this normal?

Thanks.

its like that in my se-r spec v too, turn the dial to cold, and turn recirc on and it should stop bringing in the hot air.

I noticed it too. Pretty sure it is just heat from the extractor hole in the hood being pulled into the heater air inlet at the base of the windshield.

yeah, nothing to worry about, no big deal, and it seems like the longer you own the car, the less heat that you notice start to come in.

Thanks for the insightful post.

Mistasparkle - Couldn't you just turn the heat dial to cold?

If you turn the temp dial to Max AC and then keep the fan off, air won't blow through. Any other setting will let air through naturally through the vents, and the temp dial will control how hot/cold that air is.

I thought this was common knowledge in cars from the 80s, but hey it makes me feel smarter.
