Should I buy this evo?
Should I buy this evo?

Going to keep it as short and sweet as possible. 2005 black evo 8 GSR, the car has one owner and 127,xxx miles. Vehicle just had all mantainence done (timing belt, water pump, fluids) and new acd pump. The mods on it are a turbo back exhaust, coilovers, and an act clutch. The seller wants 14k for it and has made it VERY clear it's firm. The car comes with beatrush aluminum under tray, MR wheels with brand new tires, new stock shifter, and new floor mats. The person selling has an sti and debated keeping the evo but he got it on a deal (bought the car for under 10k, original owner though engine seized but it was the ac compressor which was replaced) what do you guys think ?

The things you stated about the car are meaningless. Go look at it and drive it. Do a compression test and see how it stacks up. To dismiss a car because someone thought it had a bad motor and it didn't is just plain stupid. And who cares what the guy paid he took a risk and got lucky. Compare that car to others for sale and then male a decision.
I would say to look at what others are selling for. I was going to sell my car a couple years ago for a price that seemed fair until I looked around to replace it and I couldn't have gotten anywhere near my car for what I thought it was worth. I didn't sell it.
I question how a prior owner thinks an engine is seized when its just an ac compressor but as said pics needed and personally for that mileage I think its too high id say 11.5 to 12.5k thats a lot of mileage and those aren't mods that are ridiculous and they dont really add value to the car

How does the original owner get it for 10k...fishy.
However that being said, has anyone seen a decent EVO for less than 14? With whatever mileage on it? That isn't mangled in some way? We all watch prices and know how high some guys price their cars. And get it.
I'd go drive it, get it checked over and then make a decision.

Why in the world would any evo owner who put 100k on the car, then sell it for dirt, knowing what it is, and not go get the motor checked out prior to selling it??
