Evo 9 mr burning oil

I just recently bought the evo a couple weeks ago it has 50k miles on it. It was leaking oil and burning it letting out a puff of blue smoke after shifting to 5th releasing the gas after high rpm. Figured it was the turbo so got the dealer to replace it with another stock turbo. Needless to say it's still doing it. Need some more opinions on what could be the cause or some where close by to take it. I live near Harrisburg, pa.

Do a compression test, look at the valves if there is oil on them (valve guides leak). If you're puffing blue smoke that is not a good sign, usually means you're burning oil in the cylinder and if the oil is not coming through valve guides, then it has to be rings.

Sometimes if a car is overheated or ran with bad/no oil, it burns the the valve guides, than it burns a lot of oil, especially on highway cruising, or high revving. I hope you didn't pay too much at the dealer for the new turbo.

I didn't pay anything for the turbo. But I am doing compression test soon and seeing what's up but in the mean time I'm being easy on it. But in all honestly it might just be running rich it shoots a flame sometimes like backfires

^^ let me know how that compression test goes.

My IX has 57k miles and has been doing what yours does for the past 7k.

Got really bad last week and did a compression test, 130,130,130,40 ;(
