Evo 8 Fog Lights

Can you put foglights in evo 8 GSR headlights that have the brackets installed already. I don't know if they are made to be put in or if the previous owner took them out? I don't really want to purchase new headlights to get the foglights. Thank you

I'm confused?! All Evo 8 headlights have fog lights in them. So what are you asking? Put secondary fog lights to the fog lights?

Yeah the 05 Base GSR 8 didn't come with HID's or foglights.

Pretty sure you can install fog lights though in the 8. Someone will have to verify though.

the 05 evo GSR base bring halogen lights instead of HID and the foglight spot is covered, so he wants to know can he put foglights on. the answer is no unless you get the HID headlight housing and that involves alot of wiring

and for the record, yeah, going from base gsr to a fully hid + foglight setup is going to be quite a bit of work. errr....wonder if there's a diy for it though although im pretty certain the price of the headlights and hardware for this will probably deter most people from doing this "mod"

Like others have said, you will need new housings, or at least have to do a lot of work to cut out holes for them (which sounds like a big pain). For those who don't know, the non-HID housings of the 2005 VIII and 2006 IX (and also all of the RS models, pretty much) have a dome where the HIDs would be, whereas the HID housings have that space open since the foglight is in there.

Pretty sure there is a write up in the how to section for this. I contributed to it along with some others. I did this mod along with tsx projector retrofit and a halo kit to my lights. It's a bit of work, nothing too major if you are mechanically inclined and have some basic tools and an oven. Doesn't take more than 5 to 6 hours to really do. Allot a weekend to do the project to be safe. Check for the write up or pm me if you have any in depth questions and I'll help if I can. You should be able to see my pics in my garage of the work I did on mine. Good luck

Here is the link in the how to. Check it out then click on the link by jmrussel for his write up. It's very good.
