Hello everyone I'm looking at an ego and I did a car fax on it and it has had 6 owners in the past 2 years it it something I should be worried about or is it ok

I sure would be. Pretty sure if it seems like a good deal, then its too good to be true and better off to keep looking

 

Well there is no accidents on the car fax and it's got 75k for 18k it's not like a steal price where it's a scam

 

I would stay away! I just got my 04, Two owners evo before me..
And it helps i know the previous owner pretty well.. But thats too many owners in 2 years.
What did everyone do Molest it for 4 months then sell it? STAY AWAY.. just my 2 cents.
Or take it to a reputable shop and have them look at it. (An EVO only shop)

 

All the more reason not to get it. If you're serious, spend the money on an AutoCheck report. I am sure there will be at least one accident not reported on CarFax.

 

Just because its not on the car fax, doesn't mean it didn't happen! Don't fall for stupidity

 

Being the 6th owner of my car, I say stay away. Each person did their own crap to it to make it "better". From cheap Megan coilovers to no-name cams. Although I do appreciate them putting in an AEM UEGO (that broke a year later) and a Defi boost gauge. I've seen worse Evos with less owners and less miles so it all depends on who owns it.

 

Yeah I would research it as much as possible and ensure a good shop that specializes in Evos looks over it. Still seems like a lot of owners....could have some hidden issues that everyone just keeps giving up on.

 

I'm sorry it's had 6 in its life time and it's an 05 which isn't bad I don't think And the only think is It was sold at auction once And what's an auto check report just like a car fax

 

My evo is a ***** aswell. I'm the 8th owner. Nothing is wrong with my car though and had quality parts on it, nothing cheap. Too bad the owner/owners had ZERO care for the appearance of it and took no care of the paint.

 

So multiple owners is ok

 

I don't understand what's up with all these people saying it's a terrible thing. Price seems reasonable for miles and your location, though you don't mention the year. Get it checked out. You'll pay a premium for a 1 or 2 owner car and those can be just as hacked!

I seriously don't get everyone's fear here about multiple owners. Just get it checked. If it's a good car, buy it. Good Evos are hard to find.

 

I would be weary in buying that because with 6 owners, 6 different types of people modding the car, and driving that thing to hell. Don't let miles fool you.

I found an EVO near me which had 9 owners, low miles, also going for 17-18k. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, that thing shifted like crap, sounded horrible, had water in the motor, etc. I walked away, 9 months later, found a 2 owner, mint condition apex silver 8, few boltons and the owner took great care of it.

What I'm saying really is, wait, and you'll find a better deal.

 

Car could have changed hands through auction houses or dealers etc...

6 owners doesn't mean 6 individuals drove and beat the **** out of it.


Like any used car have it checked out by someone who know what they are looking at PERIOD
