6 owners in 2 years should I be worried buying
There is a reason single owner cars fetch more money. Its because each new owner introduces more unknown variables to the car. You have to ask yourself, did they care for it properly and why did they sell? Then come to the realization that you will never know the answers to either question.
Would you rather be the 2nd owner of a car or the 7th? nuff said.

Exactly, just get the car looked at properly then decide from there.
If I had the money at the time, I would of bought a single or 2 owner mint evo. But such is life. My car ONLY had quality parts and was owned by a mechanic. So yes 8 owners was a lot but it's ok.
Evo I just bought 4 months ago had 1 owner. Nothing was done to it, besides a new CD Player and relocated the MR gauges to the top instead of the bottom. Everything else on the car is stock. Shifts perfect, runs smooth. The only thing he did add was a full exhaust (not sure of the brand), but the exhaust was put together extremely well and it's high quality so that shows that the previous owner took care of the car. The car did have 100k miles on it though, but I got it for $16400. Carfax showed no accidents, regularly got maintenance done to it.

No my 04 just past 100k and it shifts really good after a little maintenance, like changing the shifter bushings and proper fluids, and I'm the original owner.
6 owners and 18k is a ripoff, that thing is worth like 10k + the 8k you'll need to rebuild the transfer case, transmission, and maybe engine. If it runs well for 18k(after all the rebuilding) and 6 owners then it is worth it, but as is I would really want to see how it shifts and drives, I know a guy who bought a used 06 evo 9, newer than my car but it shifts like crap and 5th gear is near impossible. Be careful buying used sports cars, they get driven hard obviously.

Na, the original owner took very well care of the car. The interior is flawless (expect for the sticker on the shifter). No tears, rips, scratches, marks. The exterior has some normal wear from driving, but is in good condition still. Motor is very clean, oil is clean, everything was good. The filter was clean also so it's been changed. nothing was caked up, oil wasn't leaking or anything. No weird grinds, noises (besides the occasional heat-shield rattle). Was extremely surprised because of the price, but it was worth it. I looked at a bunch of over evos too.

I myself looked at like 5 evos mostly from used car dealerships, and my experience was taking an evo mechanic with me to see the cars as he gave me his honest response. By the way I paid about $50 to $80 all those times so that this guy left work for a few and it's well worth it
My car has 113,000 miles and counting I drive it mostly every other day it's tuned with bolt ons and a built head . No problems but regular maintenance
