You want a go kart like performer with a larger aftermarket (simply due to the age of the engine), get the IX.
You want a more refined ride that can be slightly more work in some aspects finding parts, and don't mind non-Mitsubishi people mistaking it for the the #5 most popular car for gay males (08+ Lancer), get the X.



This is a I-IX forum, you are likely to get heavy sided views. just like if you asked in the X forums. Get what works for you.

 

My .02 on it is, if your gonna be using it for autox/track, get the IX. If your gonna be 90% using it as a daily car to get you around town, get the X. With that said, with the right setup and mods you can have the best of both worlds. My evo 8 is nice and forgiving driving to and from work, yet nicely balanced and firm at the track.

i was going to get evo 9 or 8 or x i end up getting evo 8 after driving my friends stage 2 evo 8 test drive both see which one you like and make your choice but i like the evo 8 9 body style

 

Evo 9 like everyone has said, if you don't mind how overpriced they are these days

Get the ix unless you're ballin and can put a large amount of money on the x to make it look and perform how today's generation should

i never knew evos came stage 1? do they come stage 2 and 3 where can I get an emblem?

 

He's in different market, maybe they did have Stage 1 there... for instance, tune only?
