Turbo oil line problems?
Turbo oil line problems?
When I had to drive my evo from washington to twentynine palms. Which Is a few hours east of san diego in the dessert my evo started to give me all sorts of problems. My clutch is chattering. My coilovers went poo on me. And my turbo wasnt spooling right. I think it could be the dust in the air here is so thick its clogging my maf. But anyways my turbo oil line was leaking ao I tried taking it off to fix it and this happened

It snapped so I bought a new banko bolt but it wouldnt thread in all the way. And I cant remember if it had washers originally so I tried to fix it but...

I bet you cross threaded the banjo putting it in. If you are lucky you may be able to salvage the threads. First use an ez-out to remove the portion of the original banjo assuming you havent already.
Then use a thread repairer/ rechaser. Note do not use a normal tap but rather a rethreading tool. The difference is that a tap is meant to cut new threads and a rethreader is meant to clean up threads. Its a lot less aggressive but will have enough cut to repair and straighten out the damaged threads without removing too much material.
Buy this kit right here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/METRIC-THREAD-CHASER-RETHREADING-TAP-SET-M6mm-8mm-10mm-12-MADE-IN-USA-7PCS-/140904791538?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20ce947df2
The size you are looking for is m10X1.25 IIRC. It is included in the kit above. Grease up the tool to catch the metal shavings and work it slowly into the head making sure its going in perfectly straight. Be very careful here do not rush it.
Get yourself a new oem banjo bolt and two copper crush washers and it you were successful in your repairs you should be able to thread the new banjo in straight and provide a leak free seal. Good luck
