Throttle body leak?

Posting this up for a friend. does anyone know what this part is and what it's for? Having some air leak out of here pretty heavily under a boost leak test.

Throttle body seals... They sell a replacement seal kit from several different vendors...

Here's the How Tow Replace Them Thread

And her's a link to one vendor selling them...I bought mine from MilSpec. These are from MAP.

how bad does it leak? is it even worth fixing?

That is a different part of the throttle body than what is pictured above. Aby from milspec calls it "actuated idle air bleed flapper device."

They usually leak pretty bad. Yes it's worth fixing; it's a boost leak, and you're just putting more stress on your turbo if it's not repaired. You should always repair your boost leaks, and test the system regularly.

Mine had the same problem. Got the o-ring and shaft seals and new tb to mani gasket all from Aby at milspec. Wasnt to hard to do and made a big diff in they way the car ran. or get a tb off a 05+ evo. mine is a 03 and i think the 04 have the same tb 05+ doesn't have the flapper.

Those are not the shaft seals, is nobody else looking at what he has pictured?
