So I'm preparing to swap exhaust manifolds cuz I hate my Meghan, Im looking into head studs that will NOT rust and although they make stainless steel I was wondering if they make titanium!!!!!!!!!!!! anyone ..... anyone

Oh and does anyone trust a company other than ARP for there studs?

 

Stainless steel is fine. Just be careful not to mess up the softer aluminum head! :}

I used a bolt Zinc(No nuts) and coated it with anti-sieze, so far its been holding up well.

 

If you use stainless steel studs, you should try to avoid using stainless nuts. If you do, there's a good chance they will gall and seize (common with stainless-on-stainless threads). There are lubricants and coatings to help with this, but I haven't had much luck in my limited experience with them. But if I were going to do it, I would use whatever lubricant is recommended and thread them on by hand, then use hand tools to finish threading them on (don't use power tools to run the nut in).

 

titanium can get very brittle even moreso than SS depending on quality. ARP sells chrome moly headstuds which I highly suggest
