Oil light flicker

So I have the classic oil light flicker at idle. I bought a new OPS duralast PS123.

My car also has an Aem oil pressure gauge so I'm confused on where exactly the OPS is on the car.

Here are some pictures

First picture is what I see right next to the filter, second is what the hardline attachs to. Neither end looks like the end of the new OPS...

HELP PLEASE!

Correct it is at the back of the block.
Under the intake manifold on the right hand side when facing the engine.

Yup. Right under the intake manifold.

Correct

Here is the part you'll be replacing. I think I picked this one up at O'Reily's...not positive.

very difficulty

But my better response is a question, are you sure you aren't losing oil somewhere?

Someone correct me if I am wrong but the oil light will also flicker if oil pressure is low and that could be a sign of a spun barring?

WITH LONG ARMS! LOL

You'll more than likely need to remove the UICP to the TB, maybe the battery inless you have a mini battery..or possibly reach it from underneath the car.. Try getting at it from the passenger side too.

It will flicker with low oil. Not sure about a spun bearing though. It will also flicker with normal oil pressure if the actual sending unit is dirty or going out.

I know because my oil light flickered for MONTHS .... if I was low on oil or truly running on low oil pressure then I would have seized my motor by now. Others have also experienced the oil light flicker with regular oil pressure and the unit I pictured above was simply old/clogged/going out and replacing it solved the problem.

Read through this thread. I think there are ideas to help you how to get to it.

FWIW..on the evo 9's the OPS is on the filter housing. Just to eliminate any confusion.

I have an 05. Yeah I just changed the oil and pulled out 4.45 quarts and put back 4.5.

The car doesn't have low oil, so I'll have to try and get that new OPS in when I get a chance

I just replaced mine for the same reason and problem solved. Only thing i removed was the strut bar. I stuck my hand down from the passenger side and removed it with a 27mm deep socket. Took me about 30 min.
