X to VIII?

I have pretty much talked my self into selling the X and getting into an 8.

Has anyone else here done the switch? Is there anything else that I should consider before actually pulling the trigger?

Just get the cleanest 8/9 you can find. The only reason someone dumps the X for a ct9a is because they want the rawness(not to mention the fact that they actually look like an evo while the X is confused.).

Why not a 9? The likelihood of finding an 8 in pristine mechanical condition will be difficult.

I like the rawness of the 8/9.... I am also paying payment for something that just sits around.

I want to have something fun to drive when I want it. Do occasional drives through the mountains, autox and weekend fun.

Just wanting to see if someone regrets doing the switch.

I wouldn't mind doing it myself, If I could find the right 8/9.

You should not sell your X and buy a VIII.

You should sell your X and buy a IX.

I say go for it. Most people on here will tell you to get a 9. To me an 8 is perfect especially if you are modding it. I prefer not to have mivec and ACD. Yes the 9 will net you more power with simple bolt ons but if you are planning on going past that or buying a car that has more than that I say 8.

The Evo VIII or IX, more than likely you'll modify the car a little and the difference is modest.
I would just focus on cleanest (best value) for the money.

The Evo X chassis feels solid beyond early car, but the sheer size and weight, not to mention far more fragile motor, make this for me an easy choice.

Focus on clean and even pristine as you can find within your budget, and the rest will work itself out.

In WRC Group N / R4 Evo 9 is still Eu Champion...not a X. For a reason. The Champ is not even R4, just an N...its a magical combination.

Best of luck
