Hey guys! I have an '06 Evo IX with 81k. Done pretty much every bolt on including a manual BR boost controller I installed a few years ago. Car was tuned by David Buschur and has been running great.. until now.

My tune was to 24lbs of boost. However it now spikes at 30-33 lbs and the engine occasionally if im not paying attention will cut out violently. So I keep going under the hood and readjusting the boost controller until I get 24lbs again but almost immediately it will start spiking.

Is my boost controller going??

Look for a leak in your lines going to the boost controller and then to the waist gate. You can also take apart the boost controller and clean it out.

The phrase "have you done a boost leak check?" Will likely come up, and isn't a bad idea and would cover my above suggestion about checking the lines.

 

bypass mbc and see what it does.
