help with cam and crank sensor p0335 p0340

friday i noticed a flashing batt. light. decided to check batt cables and alt. i wiggled the harness near the battery and momentarily got a stumble and a p0300 code. cleared it and pulled some more. then i noticed that the alternator chassis bolts had all rattled loose. my car vibrates like crazy and as i bought it used with no direct history i assumed it has been balance shaft deleted. so i fight with the alternator to get it out and tried to fix the broken oil light lug and in the process pulled the harness pretty hard. i then fought with the serp belt and as i did it i could hear it clicking when i rotated it backwards to hop the belt on,but thought little of it. tried to fire it and threw 345 and 340 codes. metered the pins on both cas and cps all check out then went to pull lower cover and found my belt was wicked loose. yep that sound i heard was the sound of a cogged belt hopping teeth. when i checked mark alignment nothing really lined up. tensioner wheel was torqued upside down and tensioner was fully extended. cam install gone bad. so i fired up evo scan and swiped a razor blade through the crank sensor and it read rpm. waiting on a cam sensor now. fuel pressure is happening and power at the coils is good. my question is will the ecu not fire if info from these sensors doesn't correspond? hopefully i did not wad up my valves.

One bank will shut down if the two sensors do not correlate.
It is unlikely one or both sensors just suddenly failed. Until the cam and crank are in alignment those codes won't go away.... and if it jumped more than a few teeth you are likely going to be doing some head work.

yeah hopefully i didnt but by my logic and wishfull thinking the way it slipped would put the cams in moderate advance which seems like it would be ok for the intake maybe not so much for the exhaust. i have my comp/leakdown setup ready.

good news is i got rid of the codes. bad news is i think i bent every valve in it as well as knocked the followers off the intake side. damn. but better in my driveway than on the road and now i can know whats in my used car. this is a testimony to doing a proper timing belt job.

Sucks.

Don't worry about the rockers, they just fell off because the valves didn't come back up so there was nothing to keep them in position. No great comfort, of course.
Like you said, at least it happened at home; could have happened on the highway and some genius tow truck driver could have torn your bumper off or roached your transfer case towing it etc.
