Parking brake stuck and will not release

I just got home from a 6 month trip overseas and my parking brake is seized up tight. It will not release when attempting to drive the car, it just drags the right rear wheel/tire. Any ideas on how to unstick it?

Looks like you have no choice but take off the rotor and look inside.parking brake adjustment screw needs to be lubed with wd40,try to move these parking brake pads, etc.did you try reverse by a chance?

This ^

The shoes are rusted to the drum. Forward and backward motion may break it free.
Good luck.

Next time car going to be park for a long period put a piece of wood for a brake. Or leave it in gear so the brake doesn't rust to the drum

When my car sits over winter, I always leave it in first gear without the parking brake engaged.
