evo 8 alternator issues
evo 8 alternator issues
I'm changing the alternator on my evo now. I've decided to take it out from the top. The manual says the engine oil pin has to be removed. It's fastened with one screw and i guess it should be possible to just pull it up. It's complete stuck. Any ideas to get it up? I also have to remove the right engine mount, and jack the engine up. I' ve loosened the dp and crossmembers. I think it looks a little brutal to lift the engine up, but it has to be done, right. How much could i lift the engine without damaging anything?
I've been underneath the car and have noticed an issue with some cable from the oil pan. Looks like it could go
to the battery. It is fastened on the backside of the alternator tensioner pulley. What is this cable for, and what is it called? So I can go ahead and order it.
Maybe this is the reason for my charging issues and my old alternator is ok?
