can I hit that 928?!!!
the video is funny , and is nothing serious but just the instructor joking aound . Like if anyone wants to hit other cars at a track day for fun , you want to stay away from that as much as you can . The video was posted to show what an instructor can do with the car . Which happens to be a monster , just needs more tunning on the EMS ....
Some people take it way to serious ...

It's serious business when you get out on the track. You need a cool, clear head and a proper mental attitude. You're not there to show off and be the fastest guy. You're there to be smooth and consistent, slowly building up to your limits in total control. In the second vid, this guy totally overdrives the corner then giggles as he spins off sideways into soft sand (the recipe for roll-over). Is this the right message to send your student? Is this a guy who is cool collected, and totally in control?
As someone who organizes track events and instructs, I find both videos very disturbing. I wouldn't let this guy into one of my events.

That event was a POC event. The driver of the first vid is a John Willamson who also volunteered to teach for the EOC. He is a proffesional instructor. That event wasn't a class it was just a regular POC event. Mark's (GT40) car was the only evo out there and the rest were Porsche's. On that vid he was just test driving Mark's car to see what it could do. He was not instructing at the time. On the second vid, Mark was driving the car and the one who went off the track with John riding on the passenger.

Well they are entertaining. Don't let the nay sayers bug ya... Everyone is entitled to an opinion.. The commentary was a bit strong though.. Especially against an old slow super heavy 928.. come on couldn't you have atleast picked some footage of somewhat faster car? a slocus maybe?
lol it is amazing what some people comments are , and yes everyone is entitled to their opinions.
The video was posted for fun and nothing else, i didnt say learn to drive this way or make fun of cars that are slower then you. Or learn to spin out with out care ...
At the track no one attents or aims to be spinning out . at least not for the most parts , and yes i been on the track events before and have been a driver. The entire point of the video's were mainly for fun , and not telling you to learn to drive a certain way. For the most parts there's few peeps that track there car, for the most part. Im sure theres some out there that are dedicated to the track and have learn to race at the track and not the streets .. Like some do and are applaud for doing it ....

Bunch of yuppie responses to say the least... worse than a lot of BMW clubs
Hope everyone feels "better than everyone else now". The video is amusing. You should hear the jokes hospital staff make about people in surgery, if you think this was inappropriate.

Considering the incredibly low rate of on-track incidents in the BMW CCA's 30+ years of driving schools...I'd say we're doing something right. Can you say the same about other organizations?

Yeah, the vid is for entertainment purposes only. It was a POC (Porsche Owners Club) event at streets of willow.
Ok folks, I see the video has grabbed the attention of at least a few of you. I'd like to add a few points:
#1-As has been stated SEVERAL times, the videos were posted purely as a joke, and we not meant in anyway, shape or form to be a representation of what the EOC stands for as far as our on-track attitude or our driving school environment. We can see how some of you would take it as such, and apologize for the confusion.
#2-The videos were posted mainly as test "space-filler", and as an initial means to make people laugh and see that track days/driving schools aren't just about learning, but having fun doing it. We would never endorse any "racing" in a driving school environment nor will we teach those habits. There are plenty of other organizations that people can go with that will have you bending your car up at the end of the day. In fact, that's the exact reason we created the EOC, to prevent that kind of behavior on the track track and to help people improve their skills before they decide to enter any wheel-wheel events.
#3-The man making the comments about the 928 "**** road-oiler" holds the fastest lap records for the POC at several tracks, including Streets of Willow, has been racing for over 30 years, has won multiple SCCA championships and has competed in several high profile events such as 24 hours of LeMans/Sebring. He owns a Porsche shop, has been working on them for decades, and was a Porsche factory race driver in the US.
#4-The term "**** road-oiler" is the same as calling the EVO a "rice-burner" (which he does frequently, despite the tremendous respect he has for the EVO), and thinking that the term was used to be a racial or ethnic slam is entirely irrational!
#5-The video of the spin was gt40 not the instructor (sorry for the haze Mark hehehe). Background: first morning session, first lap on all but FROZEN Michelin Pilot Sport cups. About 200 extra, completely untuned hp, completely new suspension, wheels/tires, brakes and some other goodies since his previous track day. Hell, I might have spun the car there too with all that stacked against me. Anyone who knows that course knows that where he spun is a very tricky section on cold tires with a high horsepower tool. If you claim to be fast and have never had a situation like that happen to you...you are a liar!
#6-And most importantly, just to reiterrate, the video is amusing and was meant to be so, and does not represent the attention to detail and the importance that is placed on safety at our events. Our instructors have plenty of skill, but are also whole-heartedly focused on teaching proper racing etiquette and safety! We did not foresee the negative interpretation that some of you have made, but should have expected it. We teach solid racing/car control techniques while maintaining a sense of humor, and we will not apologize for that.
Those who want to learn how to be fast, safe, and drive your car home at the end of the day in the same condition it started in, come out and experience the EOC! Those of you who don't, stay home and practice being keyboard cowboys and keep on flaming things without asking the proper questions first!

IMO, the video is fine... everything in it is fine... except for one thing... the term '****'. Fine example of US land of the free.. freedom against discrimination.. i guess its the same thing.. when Germany was strong.. everyone else was inferior... now its idiots like these being the racists... i wonder how you guys put up with this? And no.. its NOT a slang as the post above me put it.. its most likely this person will use the same word each time he encounters a german person, product etc.. maybe use the word '*****' when he talks about the same.. etc... its the mentality...
