I searched but could not find anything on this. I have to replace the clutch on my 9 MR. After a tune it started slipping like crazy in all gears. Im leaning towards a ACT ME1-HDSD and what I want to know is whether or not I should replace the flywheel as well. The tuner is pushing for it but I know he could possibly be trying to make more money. What is the typical life span for the original flywheel. Im on 52k miles right now and wanting to just replace it the next time I need to replace the clutch. Im at about 280 whp, goal within the next two years is 350 whp. Thoughts?

 

Flywheels will last a very long time. They can be resurfaced multiple times as well.

Tell him you want it resurfaced and that's that.

 

Should it be resurfaced every time the clutch is replaced? Or for a certain mileage interval?

Check if you can re-surface your stock one if you want to save Money

If you want to replace , that is a good option but maybe a new ACT or Exedy Cluth kit be a good idea

you might also want the check the clip and Throw Out Bearing as well.
