stock brakes life span

How long do the stock brakes on the 02-03 lancer last? And in case my brakes are fine, what is a good way to get rid of squeaking?

My pads lasted about 28k, replace rotors and pads at the same time. Rotors still had plenty of life left in them.

Ok that's good to hear, because I'm only at 19k miles. Any suggestions on ways to get rid of squeakin brakes? It's driving me nuts.

mine were gone at 20k he said any longer and i would have to get new rotors because i would have no more pad. The dealership told me that the squeaking just happens with those brakes and theres nothing you can do.

If you want to get rid of the noise, swap out the brake pads. That should solve that little problem.

or you can go to autozone and get brake lubricant or anti brake queek... its a aerosol can with stuff you spray on the back of the brake pads.. just take yours off and spray them

Yea.. mine are squeeking now and I have about 23,000 miles. I'm pretty hard on my brakes.. =D When this nasty winter weather goes away I'm going to get the Race Series slotted rotors and Porterfield carbon/kevlar pads from RRM. I had a similar setup on my old Eclipse and I could stop from 100mph to 0mph so quick without any brakefade. (my front bumper would almost touch the ground) They are sweeeeet!!!
