Well i have an 05 evo 8 mr that is acting kinda funny. When i first start it up in the morning the car will not stay running unless i feather the throttle. The idling goes to about 2k then drops suddenly to 0. If i dont hit the throttle when the rpms drop it will die. After feathering the throttle a good 5-10 times the car completely pulls out of it and runs perfect. I am really stumped on what the issue is. I just had it retuned and my tuner was thinking it had to be a sensor because nothing was wrong. Thank you for your help in advance.

 

Run a scan on the computer to see if there are any error codes-then go from there.

Then perhaps look at the IAC.

 

cams? mods?

02 sensor, dying lifters, IAC, tune, etc. Lots of poss causes. I know because I had/have same issues.

Could be your MAF sensor. I had a similar problem my car idled like crap and would hesitate at times. and then all of a sudden be fine. replace my maf and everything went back to perfect.

 

Did it happen before you got the new tune?
