then you have to polish it to get it to match. prepping and masking is easily as important as product on stuff like this

any pics of how it turned out? I used that Mothers "Back to Black" with little sucess.

Yea, I was thinking like $50 per side and then I would have just bought them. $145 per side leaves a lot of room for me to mess around painting them and still come out very far ahead.

I agree...you can paint them various times and still have money left over for pizza and beer...

car is in storage. i will as soon as i can. my method was get it smooth then scotchbrite it, solvent, tac cloth and paint lightly. then rub it by hand to get the sheen to desired level.

problem is that it has a rubber edge sort of like what windshield wipers have...so u have to be careful when peeling off the rubberized stuff because you can rip the edge...have to take your time with a blade etc but they turn out good...I also painted the plastic part between windshield and hood and still looks new after about 6 months...need to figure out what to do about the moldings on the doors

Well..STM has the doors sill moldings but they are like $50 a piece I think. None, of these moldings are reasonable for replacing.

FRONT DOOR WINDOW MOULDING
OEM Mitsubishi Front Door Window Belt Moudling.
2003-2006 Evolution VIII & IX CT9A

To be honest im planning on painting the door moulding as well. At this point I am actually leaning towards plasti-dip as much as I hate it. This would allow me to cover the moulding with a fresh black but now have to mess around too much with prep I think.

I was looking at my roof molding last night again and I can see I'll be trying to re-paint these suckers soon. Definite sun fade.
