Now this is my daily driver and its got 128xxx miles. I dont want to go crazy build here so i want to keep it simple. Ive got a wally 255, evo 8.5 turbo that i have to install yet. Its got grimmspeed mbc, buschur 3" dp and exhaust, buschur intake and some motor mounts and rear diff bushings. Now i cant decided If i need cams and injectors. Ive read some people say yes you need injectors for anything more than stock and others say no you dont. Since this is a very mild build are cams and or cam gears necessary?

 

you will make those numbers on a dynojet with adding the wally 255. IMO the 8.5 turbo isnt really worth it but it is up to you. worth about 10whp over the 9.8T. our 8's do need cams to make any more power though.... my kelford 272's dd nice other than the lopey idle.

simply put, install the wally and turbo and tune. should be plenty fun for a while.

 

the turbo was like a random buy for stupid cheap. i needed a mani cause mine is cracked and well i got the turbo plus jpipe mani and all lines for 150 so i couldnt pass it up. throwing a set of $500-$600 set of cams is outa the question though. MAP has the crowers stage1 for $399 though but im afraid i would need cam gears also?

 

I say go with kelford or gsc s2s and yes you would need cam gears to properly degree your cams. I'd also add a COP of some sort. Don't buy parts just because there cheap you'll regret it in the long run.

 

if your looking for 300whp with Intake, TBE, UICP and LICP with a tune should be good enough, cams, fuel pump and injectors aren't necessary

 

If you want cams, go GSC S1's (nice low/midrange), S2's or kelford 272's (more power with mid to top end power.) don't do those crowers.

oh it wont be for a few months yet. ive still gotta get an intercooler. then ill wait till it warms up a bit to get it tuned.

 

Yea you don't really need cams to get your power goals seen you mentioned cams so I was trying to give you some advice on which ones to go with if you do get cams. But I'd say get bigger injectors and a grimmspeed ebcs and turn up the boost and get tuned you should get your goal. Like all people with boosted cars we get hungry and always want more lol

 

Yeah I know we all get hungry lol. It's my dd and has 128k on it and I hardly get on it anymore. It hasn't seen the drag strip in almost 2 years. I just gotta make sure I stay ahead on my buddy and his freak 99 gt mustang lol.
