Clutch Disengaging Issue

06 MR
Exedy Twin HD

Problem:
-while vehicle in neutral, letting off clutch pedal engages clutch when not in gear. (normally this shouldn't happen, it shouldn't add any load to the engine, or cause any friction if in neutral)

Tried:
-bleeding clutch
-adjusting clutch pedal under dash.

Resolution: ??

looking for some help, the engine has just been installed and I've barely driven the car because of this, it didn't do this when i took the engine out.

are you doing this on jack stands? on the ground?

sounds like clutch wasn't installed properly or something is wrong with gear linkages

So your engine load is changing when you release the clutch? What friction are you talking about? Is the clutch dragging?

I would start with the shift linkages. Your clutch always engages when you release the pedal. When you're in a gear your car moves, when you're in neutral it doesn't.

to make sure they're not in gear

the clutch is always engaged when you let off the pedal. the only thing making you move forward would be if gears are engaging, which in neutral they won't

is there a write-up or guide to see the correct way the linkages should be positioned?

Re-bleed your slave cylinder using bottle method. There is probably air in your lines.

did you do anything to the transmission?
if you didnt, then it "shouldnt" be since it didnt do it before hand.
just checking, your not pumping the clutch pedal when you bleed right?
have you tried shifting into different gears? any binding issues etc? shift linkage in wrong way?
