Clutch not disengaging enough! HELP!
I replaced the stock clutch disk with a clutchnet 6-puck disc. Now I am unable to disengage the pressure plate to shift the car while turned on. I am pretty sure this is what is happening.
I ordered a clutch extender rod from lancershop.com and when it arrived it said it was a shorter rod? Tell me, how does extender mean shorter? Is there something I am missing. How would replacing the piston in the clutch slave cylinder to a shorter rod give me more throw or disengagement of pressure plate?
Lancershop really let me down this time.
Does anyone sell a clutch rod extender that makes it longer, not shorter! All help is appreciated!

look under the car where the tranny service hole is.. make sure the tob is connected and aligned properly..
i had same problem.. it was just an install error. had to redo it. the ring on the spring that connects the tob to pressure plate didnt not mate.

it was not pulling the pressure plate. it was in there but the ring behind the spring did not clamp on to the tob. if you look at the oem pressure plate and the spring with ring behind it you will see what i mean.
if your ring on the spring is on. you might be able to re-align the tob through the service hole saving you some hours.. i tried that but i figured the ring popped out. and it did.. wasted another 9hrs.

I found this on a different post, if you have an EVO 8 the clutchnet clutch might not work correctly.

The EVO 7 has much more mechanical advantage (basically leverage) built into it which means that it takes more travel to operate.
I am not sure if you misunderstood, were mis-informed, or ClutchNet has something totally different that I am not aware of, but be careful the pressure plate is correct. Exedy for instance has a totally different setup (on their Hyper clutches) that does replace both EVO 7 and 8 with the same parts. They simply compromise on the leverage so they can be used on both vehicles. The Exedy Sport clutches on the other hand are totally different on the EVO 7 and 8. It gets confusing since the parts look and bolt up the same.
I don't think it is appropriate for me to comment on the ClutchNet product (or other competitors) so I will stay away from that question.

If you only changed the disc then it is either a problem with the install (release bearing as mentioned earlier) or tight splines. If you have to take it apart make sure that the disc slides easily on the transmission shaft. The "extender rod" is voodoo engineering because the hydraulics automatically adjust for any distance downstream of the master cylinder. That is exactly how the hydraulics self-adjusts for disc wear without affecting the release point.

Also, Clutchnet is only selling Evo 8 clutches to US customers... they just have not updated their website. The RMR 6 puck disc, is a Clutchnet Evo 8 disc for example (per RMR).
