Evo9 MR Not Going into gear when Cold or first start up

I've had it looked at by a few shops and All I get is the usual redorick on how the MR has the weak transmission. To me, this seems like something else. So when its cold or the car hasn't been driven yet, the car does not like to go into gear. I don't know if its pressure because I can rev the engine and get the car to shift correctly. The clutch seems fine so I had ruled that out. The Car only has 76k on it and an unknown history. Any ideas on what would cause the car to not want to go into gear?

Evo use cables for shifting gears have you had any work done to your car recently, such as clutch etc? IF someone messed with your clutched means the F up something with cables and need to fix it
