I was rear-ended in 10 mph traffic. My bumper cover was dislodged. I though they only needed to paint and reattach the bumper, but it was crumpled underneath the trunk.

The guy had State Farm and I initiated a claim right there on the side of the road. All large insurance companies have 24/7 claim service. Make the call immediately and have the insurance company speak to their client to confirm. State Farm paid for my repairs and a rental car for me all on that guy's dime.

People change their stories after they drive away. Don't let them leave.

 

i definetly feel your pains...... i used to have a black 350z... and someone hit me in the parking lot.. so i forked over my own damn money to get the rear replaced and painted.. then 2 weeks later a friggin moron doesnt pay attention and slams into me while im waiting at a red.... took me another month to get that straightened out... after the 2 hits, my Z was never the same... sold it for an evo.

 

Wow, I guess it's a popular thing =O I just got rear ended 2 weeks ago....I was having a cigarett in the parking lot admiring my car while the turbo timer was winding down and I see 3 korean girls back straight into it. My brand new evo without plates yet, already rear ended, imagine the look I had heh. Ends up she doesn't have insurance to add and needless to say, I'm dealing with a bunch of crap right now just to get it fixed. People need to be more careful @ times. =X

I got the check from Kentucky Farm Bureau the other day. They are paying to replace the bumper cover and the energy absorder and their paying for Mitsu OEM parts. They are also paying for an alignment (just to make sure everything is ok). I'll definatly have them check the bumper supports and welds. Thanks to everyone who offered their experiences. I guess I won't be the only one who can't say "all original" when I sell my EVO...lol. The body shop is part of my dealer's auto group and they all know me, so I'm sure they'll fix it right. I just want it fixed so I can put my graphics and UK EVO VIII emblem on. Than all I have to do is decide on the system...I really want a Clarion indash DVD, but that's a lot of money just for coolness factor...lol

 

ok, got the car in the shop and they called and said the had to replace the rear frame rails...2 weeks now with a crappy Cavalair rental!!! No pwer windows, locks or engine!!! I don't know why someone would buy a car without power options, especially Enterprise Rentacar. I did check in the trunk and the rear end was pushed into the spare and crumpled, but the body shop said they fixed it already. We'll see. If it's not perfect, there gonna do it again!

 

Got my EVO back today. It looks great and no rattles or anything! If your in KY and need your EVO fixed go to Swope Collision...They did a great job... Can't even tell it was ever hit!
