To be honest with you I'm a little pissed that there are dealers out there taking money...We have no idea what we are getting nor can we find out!!! I will do some looking ang asking at work tomorrow woth my GM and we what I can tell you guys and I'll work on getting that video.

Why would you? I understand if the deposits are not refundable but, almost all buyer knows about the evo and I'm finally going to see one in the U.S. rather than in asia. There is no harm in garenteeing a car for us hard core enthusicst who has to have one.

It's like if i wanted the new 03 mustang cobra in asia, would i be worried of now knowing what the car is? I'd probably know more than the dealership do and I can feel safe about what i'm buying. There might be minor changes but, it probably would change my mind.

What we do know is that mitsubishi said msrp under 30k and 250+hp. They say they'll changed everything that is required for U.S. standrad due dec. jan 03. And that is enought for me to order one and i'm gratefull my dealer let me to ensure a non ridculous price due to supply and demand.

 

I understand your point...but....they can't garuntee any more than one....no one knows how many they will get other than one! Most GMs are wanting the first one to stay in their area..

Thanks for sharing. My impression was that even most DM's were still equally as uninformed as the rest of us. Hopefully that has changed with the unveiling of the new model Evo. Now my being able to afford on seems to be the only issue left unchanged. Let us know if you hear anything interesting.

 

They wrote that i'm getting the 1st car arriving to thier dealership so i guess that ok by your rules .

Anyways, I recalled that it was written in wall street journal that they are bring 4000 units and the rumored numbers match up. Even if they bring like 2000 units annually like the galant vr4 during 90-92 each dealership will have at least 2 or more.

More than likely you get a second one sooner or later so why not let someone depost one to ensure their spot? I'm sorry but i see no reason for dealerships to not save a car for the customer unless they are planning to maximize dealer markups.

Welcome to the forum MitsQueen. I agree with you when it comes to putting down a deposit. Personally, I dought that there will be THAT much of a rush when the EVO arrives. But, if it's refundable, then hey...WHY NOT!

First person to get the EVO at a dealer, 25'th person, makes no difference to me. I just want AN Evo!

OKay I talked to my GM...he has no problems telling us what he knows..but he also will not mislead us....He did say that there will be a inbetween Lancer...actually it will be a OZ dressed up..with a little bit of play Guys I am working to get a copy of the video from Vegas...we thought that we had it..it was some kind of Hype video....must I am working on it!!!
