OEM 9 belt. The fastest 4g63 cars in the world use them.

Also, roach85's information is false. The 9 belt works on an 8 and vice versa, including DSM's.

STMs website lists different part numbers and prices for the belt. That may be why he says that.
I always order belts for my IX, so never even thought about it.
Okay. So my Kevlar belt works for either then. LOL

Right, different part numbers since they are different belts. They work on any 4G63

Wow.. So much mis information. Both belts are backwards compatible. Evo 9 is better and the preferred choice.

My mistake but I am glad someone corrected it. I own a 9 and have done two timing jobs. When I order the belt it is a different part number than the 8 so I assumed it was different. Never did a side by side comparison. My mistake guys

Keep reading after the post you quoted. You're fine. The IX belt is the better choice, if buying OEM.

Just for my own curiosity (and maybe I missed it) why is the 9 better.......is it tougher because of the Mivec setup?

The 9 belt is Kevlar. It is probably that way since it has MIVEC and you need more precise cam timing control.

That is a kevlar belt but not the one the others are referring to. They are talking about the OEM Evo 9 belt which comes with kevlar
