I didn't know the IX's was kevlar. Good to know! Have to check them out when I switch out my belts again this year. I've run the kevlar belts from 50k on. For a track car you can't take too many precautions. Having an OEM option is great!

Okay my brothas so we have established the evo 9 timing belt will work on an 8! lol

My update as of now

Evo 9 timing belt is on with solid timing tensioner... Seems To
Fit good... At This point I have one more question but will make a new post so everyone checkin on it. Will be about exactly what plugs to use e85 800+ hp. That's about the only thing I have a question on at this point. Have seen mixed reviews but want opinions from you all experts!

Anyways thanks for the help on the timing belt! I'm glad I have a place where people can be civil and give good advice, really look forward to asking more questions and getting your help!

Thank you all who have chimed in!

I don't understand why this is even a thought still. Get a ****ing evo 8 belt from gates and be done with it. No worries about anything you put the ****ing thing on and its done.

Stock heat range on e85 will be fine. Evo 9 oem belt is the one to get. Pics of solid tensioner? And why?

I'll have to take a pic when I get under the car tomorrow... I just went solid for the peice of mind the tensioner isn't going to fail In theory lol. And yeah as for the plugs I can't really find a solid answer on what to use for this kind of power! As for that tensioner though it seems to work good on there haven't started it. But it's all timed and put back together. The new s3 billet cams are in, all that's left is the fuel line really! Then off to TPG Monday
