Evo : idle cams more lumpier

Hi

I have a tuned evo 6 with evo 9 turbo and hks 272 (evo8) cams. I have a Apexi power fc ecu with hand commander.

The hks 272 cams don't appear to be lumpy and I would like it to be a bit lumpier on idle.

How can I get the cams to be lumpier at idle without retune and safely ?

Cheers

Can you minus a couple degrees of timing at idle with that?

Lower timing a couple degrees at idle, and lean it out a little bit. I didn't get any lope until it was leaned out at idle.

What ecu are you running ?
Can this be done from the Hand controller on the power fc ?

Stock ecu, running Ecuflash.

I'm not super familar with the FC, but if you can get access to the fuel maps, than yes.

Or dump the FC and just buy a tactrix cable to tune with if it's that big of a deal, I actually got into tuning after just wanting more idle lope.

Tuning the car so it has a more aggressive lope, this just amazes me. Why would you not want a nice healthy idle? You should have bought more aggressive cams from the get go. This reminds me of the thread where the OP wanted a twin disc just so people would hear it and know he had an aggressive clutch. I can already see how this will end, next thread will be "Why does my idle dip and stall out at stop lights"

"But it sounds cool!"

No, really. The looks I get at a stop light are great, compliments all the time about how my car sounds, even from the muscle car guys.

Some like smooth idle, some don't. If you have the slightest idea of what you are doing, the car will not stall and dip at stop lights. I have read lots of people that do have those problems, yet I have never had a single stall, or idle dip when taking off even with the A/C on.

It also depends on the cam brands. My HKS 272s are nice and smooth compared to my friend's BC 272s at idle.
I don't think lopping idle "sounds cool" either. It may be it's the reason I still didn't install my S2 cams yet.
