Personally, I wouldn't if you're on stock block. The only reason I'd see to run a catch can would be because of crankcase pressure or maybe e85 gunk. Other than those two reasons, I can't see why anyone would run it. I myself am looking to get one because fp's ballbearing turbos have their infamous oil leakages because it's sensitive to the crankcase pressure.

Maybe I'm missing something? I dont know, if you're system is working fine I suggest you not to mess with it
Just my $.02

A stock block still has blow by, this can cause issues with knock sensitivity.
Using a catch can cleans what your motor is breathing in.

I'm on stock block, I use a catchcan

Im on stock block with a 3 port catch can. I would rather have blow by than to recirculate it back into the motor and burn it.

I'm not stock but not highly modded (basic bolt on really) and i use a catch can. I use a clear hose to connect everything and you can actually see all the oil that would have ended up in the intake pipe. My intake pipe has been clean of oil ever since i've installed it. To be honest, i don't remember why i bought one to begin with (this was back in 2005 i think), but i have it, and i use it.

I'm using one on my stock block IX-MR. I feel it is worth it, because I do get blow by in the catch can.

I'm actually running two catch cans, cuz I modified cheap ones off ebay. One between the plenum and where the PCV valve used to be, and one between the side valve cover vent and the intake pipe right before the turbo intake. (SD, no MAF). I'm also using a Krank Vent check valve coming right off the plenum to keep from putting boost pressure into the catch can.

What kind of tubing are ppl using to their catch cans? Don't want to use silicon hose, as engine oil degrades it, but the clear poly type of hose I was using collapsed from the engine bay heat.

Oil catch cans prevent from oil going into your intake, which then travels to your intercooler etc. Not good.

PM me your # and i'll forward you pics of my catch-can setup if you're interested. It's tucked away nicely and easily accessible.
