Will the 04's have mark-ups?

Hey guys,

I've decided to wait for and see if I can get a good deal on an 04 instead of buying a left over 03. Do you guys think they will have rediculous mark-ups again or was that just a first year thing? i remember last year when the EVO came out there were mark-ups but after the hype died down prices came down. I really hope I can get one around invoice. What do you guys think?

Fred

Hard to say but at this point they should just make it an 05.

If there is any truth to some of the rumors about an even more limited suppy of 04's.. Then its possible.. But I think if you go to any dealer, ready to make a purchase, and you have all your info and your ducks in a row.. I think they may be more inclined to work a deal nowadays, just find a dealer that's had a good reputation in the past.

I think so.
And watch out for the even bigger mark up for the supposedly cheaper RS.
I hate how stealerships act with new cars then try to give cause for the mark up as the market value adjustment.

if you want to buy one close to invoice, I think you better look for the 03 unless you really want to get the leather seat.

Even there's still some 03 left around which mean the Evo may not be a great sell as some dealer was expect......but once they get the 04....I dont think they will not lower the price that soon. you'll be lucky if you can buy a 04 with close to MSRP.

I will buy the 03 since there's not much a different to 04.

Does not really matter

For sure the 04 model will be higher price 'cause the option of Infinity sound sys and Leather seats. In KS, the Evo cause about $30,900...I don't think the price will be that big of a different. To me it just not really neccessary to go for the 04 model since the performance is the same, and if you want a better sound system...just up grade the 03. Why pay more?

I'm pretty sure there'll be a markup. Just because its a 2nd year production car doesn't make it any less of an evo. It's still famous/popular amongst enthusiasts and will always have a markup for a while.

Most the one's around here are not moving, they sit there for months. I think you still have a good chance at sticker on an 04, just not right when they first come out. I also think many dealers get a lot more then 30K of advertising by having it out front, vs selling it. Many who have only one are I no rush to see it go unless they make big money on it.

i just bought my evo on friday and the dealer told me they have the 04's coming in june. each dealer can only have 2. there will only be 1500 evos made with 300 of those 1500 being rs's. that means only a few select dealers will get rs's.

My dealer claims they ordered 30 (03's). I personally saw over 10 when I first looked and they had an ad in the newspaper claiming 18 in stock (which is what made me go to that dealer). Anyway, maybe they will be able to get more if they are only producing 1/4 of the normal versions vs 03. Sucks to be you guys who waited !!!
