Mine are,

1. I won't park it in a shopping centre car park
2. I won't leave it with anyone to repair unless I can stand there and watch it being worked on, but it hasn't needed repairs yet, I don't trust anyone to not drive it. I had new rubber put on it once and had to keep an eye on the guy doing it at all times.
3. I won't leave it parked out the front on the street
4. I don't like any dirt on the floor mats, I vacume all the time
5. I don't drive it in the rain unless I get caught out.
6. I don't like to wash it all the time unless it needs it. Rust and scratches I think are results of to much washing.
7. I don't like anyone getting in it and squashing the seat bolsters, I warn them to move over them and sit straight in.
8. I don't like to use the windscreen washers as it leaves dirt around the front window.
9. I never put the foot down in the neighbourhood where anyone I know can see me.

thats it, there are more but can't think of them right now :-)

lol mate I think you should be a little more lenient. You only live once. Theres bigger things in life to stress about than what you've mentioned. If you havent already, get yourself a daily and make the evo your weekend warrior. Or even sell the evo off.

Im all for keeping a car clean.. but where you and I differ is I'm happy to wash it after every spirited drive. My evos not in the same showroom condition as to when i got it.. scratch here, gutter rash there, stone chip over there but im not fussed cus its still gives me an enjoyable drive each and every time. In fact I often wish my car gets dirty after every drive cus it gives me a great reason to wash it. For what its worth I wash it at least a few times a week. I find it satisfying.

Ill park anywhere.. I have an alarm, lock nuts & thankfully the areas I go to are safe. Never had anything happen yet *knock on wood*.

You sound like one of my mates.. makes the biggest deal over a tiny scratch. Acts like its the end of the world. Cars & objects can be replaced.

Worry less, enjoy life more.

I'm the same exact way. everything you listed I do! I think its a pride thing and we want to keep it clean. I know I have fun with it so I'm not worried about the little things I do to keep it in the condition it's in. I think these things are where a clean well kept evo differs from some evos. mine comes out on the weekend and that's it for the most part.

ok...mines kinda like this..

1. I won't park it in the sun. It goes from garage at home to garage at work. (if driven)
2. Always park far away from Stores and have one side next to a cement island.
3.I always wash my car. I don't let anyone else do it. They can't do it right anyways.
4. haha..I keep my interior immaculate. like you..nothing on the carpet.
5.I try my best to never drive it in the rain here in AZ..especially during Monsoon season.

That some of my neurotic things I do...

I had a neighbour who was a washaholic, washed his cars several times a week. He has since moved. I'm at the other end of the spectrum, I wash cars a couple of times a year. While his cars turned into rust buckets the paint on my 2003 Evo looks like new (when you can see it).

The first three on the OP's list I also do. I've read too many stories here of what test drives performed by mechanics have done to cars so I totally agree with keeping an eye on my car when in a shop. But my car can become pretty dirty inside or out before it drives me to get out the wash bucket or vacuum.

That's about all I do. And I wash it about every other week.

I do get worried where I park my Evo 5, does have an alarm though, kill switch and GPS tracker so its fairly safe but is parked on the street every day at work. I take it supermarket shopping, pretty much everything. Its my only working car at the moment.

Isnt garaged either, I do wash it often and drive in the rain almost every day (its winter here)

No real rust yet, couple of touch up bits from stone chips but other than that she runs like a dream and loves a good thrashing.

I was like the original poster at one point till I thought its just a car lol.

I park mine as far as possible from other cars. Still, half the time someone just has to park next to me.

I also garage mine all winter. In North Dakota, that means my Evo spends a lot of time in the garage.

you must be a ton of fun at parties :P

but seriously, i took my car for an alignment once. i forgot to put it in valet mode and could hear the guy ripping around the neighborhood. when he got back, a soda i had in the back seat had rolled down and punctured itself on the seat railing. it sprayed all over the interior.
they paid for the detail, but that's beside the point.

never, ever trust any shop to test drive your car unless you can see, hear, or ride along. they WILL hoon it.

oh, and i park at the back of parking lots... but when i come out, there will be an SUV out there, right next to me. so that doesn't really help.

Well with any expensive car I think everyone's phobia are almost the same.

My major ones would be:

1- Not to daily it

2- If needed to take it out to a store park no where near other cars or shopping carts..

3- must have a garage to keep the car in.

I mean you cant have alot of phobias cause at the end of the day you should enjoy your car.
