Buschur Racing has one of the lightest and best performing exhausts on the market with a nice sound IMO. I had it on my old 8 was happy with it, the slip fit design made it easy to bolt on in the driveway as well.

Surprised US companies can even sell an Evo VIII/IX exhaust anymore.

I think you can get a full SS 3in TBE for under 300 on EBAY

not sure if you have the same one as me, but i'm running no cat and my BR has a muffler that is, maybe, 5" in diameter and about 14-18" long. it's loud as HELL. so much that i had to add the biggest resonator i could find. still VERY loud. it's keeping me off of Laguna Seca, which is the biggest bummer.

if you don't mind poor fitment and welds that don't hold, yes.

I don't have one myself but have seen plenty, they fit as well as anything else. (Kinda hard to mess up when you just copy something done already)

Welds again look as good as anything else you'd buy here.

Would I buy one no just because I'd rather support Evom vendors here in the states (Actually at this point, Id have someone just make me an AL exhaust to be honest) however, I have no doubt those exhaust will hold up just as well as ant other 3in SS TBE and provided years and years or trouble free service.

There folks on here prob run these cheap EBAY specials 5+ years now

i've seen welds crack after a few months. i've seen the flanges warp in less time (my current test pipe leaks like a siv). i've seen the exhaust hit the fuel oil pan, ACD pump, fuel tank, and/or rear diff. i've seen them melt bumper covers. i've seen packing material actually shoot out the tip because they inner baffling rattled loose.

just my experience, though. yours may be totally different. which brings up another point: the quality from one piece to another varies greatly. you never know what you're gonna get. in fact, the one you linked to says it fits an VIII/IX, but nowhere offers an option to fit around the ACD of a IX. someone will get a downpipe that doesn't fit.

or, you buy a name brand and have no worries. (trust me: i used to go the cheap route LOL)

Yea would most certainly depend on which Ebay vendor (3rd World Sweat Shop) you buy it from. Guess some are probably better than others.

Never seen Ebay special exhaust have any issues, manifolds, and O2 housings a plenty though.

Hmmm, I have the BR SCCA on mine and I don't think it's that loud, with or without a cat.

I've had an Invidia since I bought it. I like the sound, even with a test pipe its not too loud.

I had an early version of the BR exhaust which was nice, but almost to loud, I was thinking of buying the resinator for it which was relatively new at the time, but never did. Since the BR exhaust was to loud for my wife, I decided to go with an RRE catback this time around. It's only about 5lbs lighter than the stock exhaust, similar in price to the BR (although I got mine used), and is noticeably quieter around town.

I've seen rust on ebay SS exhausts, fitment issues, and warped flanges as well, so I'd get a name brand personally.

another option is my favorite: have one made.

you can source mild steel bends, flanges, a muffler, and pipe from Jegs, Summit, etc. then take them to a muffler shop and have them weld it all up. you get exactly what you want and it fits perfect.

i usually add in a flex pipe right after the oil pan, before the flange to the cat/test pipe.

you end up with a custom exhaust that is sometimes cheaper than a ready-made one. sure, it's not stainless nor titanium, but it works.

if you want something that looks fancy, this is NOT the way to go LOL.

otherwise, i also hear the Hi-Power is pretty quiet and sounds nice.
