Soon to be Evo 8 owner. First Upgrades?

Sorry guys, I know this question has been beaten to death...I am a former 04 STI owner and am looking to make the big switch. My STI has given me all kinds of headaches. I would most likely be getting an Evo 8. I am in the process of moving so I do not have regular access to the internet. My question is what is a list of bolt ons that I need to get an evo 8 into low 12's for the 1/4 mile? What would that be for WHP? I would Like to hit 350whp I also do not want cam's(not a fan of the way it idles)....and this car will be my daily driver. For my STI I was fully catless, intake and stage 2 tuned at 18psi and I would like to be faster than that.

Coming from an STI stand point I have alot of research to do for evo tuning. I live in New Hampshire and so far have found granite state dyno for a possible tuning?...With my STI I just had my AP. Also the subaru in me likes it loud. I plan on going catless with my evo. Is it safe to run no tune catless for awhile with an evo? I understand I will be losing torque but other than that any long term problems? Thanks

Tbe, boost controller, intake filter, wideband, boost gauge, tactrix cable, evoscan, and a remote tuner of your choice. If you have e85, 1100cc+ injectors and walbro 255. E85 will put you right on the 400whp mark.

This is an Evo IX, but... 11.9 w/ 315 whp (Mustang) - 93 octane, bolt ons, CBRD tune

this is all you need. you can go fancier but no need. this is the cheapest/easiest/most reliable way to reach your goal.
for safety, and since you would be tuning, i'd go with a larger injector.

I agree with all these guys, but one of my 1st mods were a set of HKS cams and I swear it felt like a different car after the tune of course. But no exageration 50hp at the wheels....BANG!!!

Honestly, rather than mod, I'd assume that some things are going to break and have money set aside to fix them.

agree on this. The very first thing I changed when I got my 8 was to replace the clutch, timing belt, replace ALL the fluids and smoothen the tune (EvoD did all the job). and it was NIGHT AND DAY difference after...

good points. i assumed the OP meant mods after basic maintenance. but yeah: timing belt, fluids, etc. freshen her up.
setting cash aside for an eventual clutch is a pretty good idea too LOL.

I would also allocate some money for some suspension love. If its completely stock rear trailing arm bushings are a must. A thicker rear sway bar is also pretty typical, but I would suggest looking into the rear LSD mod for US evos. Mitsu ganked them at the factory to help with warranty claims, but they can be taken apart and re-arranged to operate as intended. After doing that im not so sure if rear sway bar is still needed or not.

save your money, do some track days and auto x

in a year then go with cams, e85 and turbo if you really want more power
