Evo IX hesitation under WOT?

Hey guys, so recently my Evo IX has started acting up and when I go WOT the car sputters around 20PSI and hesitates and won't push any further. The car is normally hitting around 25PSI. It's almost like rapid backfiring sounds, any idea's as to what it could be..? The car idles fine and drives fine until I go wide open and hit around 20 lbs of boost, then it hesitates and doesn't push any further even with the throttle all the way to the floor.

Before anything else, have you completed a boost leak test?

No i have not done that yet, but I've checked all couplers, hoses, and everything seems to be connected still.

do a proper boost leak test, then check your spark plugs. Also how are you measuring boost? Ive seen gauges go bad and people crank up the boost and hitting fuel cut.
