Hesitation at WOT now?

I have been having this quick hesitation problem with my EVO ever since I got the car. What it does is when I hit the gas, the car will accelerate properly and get to a certain rpm and then it will cut back and then give me full acceleration again to redline. It only does this once. It's like a small hiccup. I thought a reflash would take care of it but it didn't. It only does it when it's real hot outside too. This led me to believe the car is just running a tad on the rich side (at night it doesn't do it).

I just got the TBE yesterday and it is more prone to do it now. I'm getting the car custom dyno tuned on Shiv's dyno on Friday.

I just wanted to know what you guys think it may be other than needing a tune.

Do you have an open air filter?

Under hood heat to and open air filter would also cause it to lag a bit more than stock.

No, I know the difference with the ECU pulling timing.. the car will fall flat on it's face and stay that way up to redline. It's like a hiccup but it's not turbo lag either. Turbo lag is when I mash on the gas and the car takes a second before it accelerates.

Why could it not be that the car is too rich at a certain rpm/load?

Leaks in the intake won't cause this. I would notice a leak with low boost. And the car would be consistant with leaking out the air upon acceleration.

Remember, it's a hiccup. Nothing more.

Yeap, but I also have an XFlash. Doesn't that eliminate boost cut?

It would be more prone to spike in very cold weather, than in hot weather like he said. Does it throw any cel's? Boost cut is alot more than a little hiccup, feels like ur hitting a brick wall. Let shiv take a look at it on friday.

Boost could be blowing out the spark. Check your plugs and gaps.
