is there a sweet spot for injector size running 93 pump?

I am comtemplating my next mod list and I see that 1450cc injectors as the ideal size when running e85 but as I have nowhere near to buy e85 I am stuck on what we call 98 in Aus, same as your 93, so I was wondering if I was going to do a cam and spring upgrade, maybe a future red, what size injectors would you recommend on pump gass? I have also read that injector size doesnt make much of a difference on pump.

Also can you have to big a size of injector on pump, like it could flood the motor? not sure if thats a silly noob question..lol

You'll still have plenty of injector with those upgrades.

I would go with either FIC 1100cc or FIC 1650 high z injectors. FP Red on pump gas you are looking to run 450-500whp, 1100cc should clear that might just need to bump the base fuel pressure.

Don't go too big. It becomes awful for driveability. I had 1450s and running 91 was awful. I'm down to 1150 and no driveability problems with plenty of room.

If you only have access to 98 go set of Bosch 1000cc or variant (ID, xspurt). You will need to get adapters and spacers and do a resistor box delete (super easy stuff). Mine experience is that Bosch is easier to tune and hold a better afr and are cheaper. Fic are great injectors but I think Bosch are better.

I'm oz also, where you at?

At FIC we use Bosch injectors, the only difference is that we test and match them to a much higher degree than you'll find from many injector companies and from Bosch themselves, and we also modify some of the injectors to optimize their flow rate.
Don't forget about the data that we supply for tuning. If you get injectors without any data, or bad data, you're going to struggle much more to get your tune right.
Just wanted to clarify that since you can really only step up from a generic Bosch to FIC, when comparing the same flow rate injector.

Also, we have seen for many hears that any size injector we offer up to our 1100cc high impedance (or 1120cc low impedance) offers very near stock-like tuning and driveability results on gasoline (as well as E85). Our new 1650cc injector has also entered the market and really impressed us and our customers in that it tunes extremely well on gasoline (and E85 of course).
You'll notice there's one injector I left out here -- our 2150cc. This injector tunes quite impressively for its large size, but there can be a bit of a compromise when tuning it on gasoline due to the extremely short pulse widths required to supply the miniscule amount of fuel required for the idle range. The 2150cc is pretty trouble-free when used with E85 since it uses more fuel and doesn't push the injector pulse with quite as low.

I've been running FIC1100's for the last 2 year or so, remote tuned by Chris from Pure Drive Performance , and I couldn't be happier, they're great injectors. They are exclusively used with 98 octane fuel and have delivered around 360kws (553hp on VD) on my car. Remember, 33% injectors - 33% tuning - 33% supporting mods (1% love), if any part of this equation isn't in place you'll not get the outcome hoped for.

Another vote for FIC 1100's. Excellent injector that runs great on 93 pump gas.
