Time to upgrade cams?

I have a built 2.3 that has HKS 272, the motor was built a few years back. Doing a little looking around I noticed the GSC R2 cams.

Would it be worth my time and money to upgrade the cams to the R2 or would it be better off spending the money elsewhere?

Cams will be a good upgrade. However, if the cylinder head isn't ported, the R2's would not be my choice. I would go with S2's.

Well the R2 is designed for a stroker motor, the S2 is designed for a high revving non stroker.

The extra lift of the R2 will not be utilized if your head isn't ported.
