Evo stutters at 4k+ rpms

So I just did a boost leak test, and found a major leak on the licp/intercooler coupler. Fixed it and took the car out for a drive. Tried to hit boost and it would stutter after 3.5-4k. Is the car overboosting? Any help would be appreciated.

Honestly have no idea. Could that be a cause of the issue? I do have an extra set of wires laying around somewhere. Oh I also changed my plugs recently, maybe 50 miles ago.

Did you also check the plug gaps before installing them?

might be the culprit. too big of gap=spark blowout. those things are not gapped out of box. gap on the is .032 or so out of the box.

If I were to boost above stock level go a step colder - BPR-8ES. Gap down to 0.020" and try again.

Back in DSM days I remember people saying plugs were pre gapped for those cars. Then someone pointed out the same plug was used in Honda lawnmowers.
